Filming and Photography at the Memorial

The Australian War Memorial is a unique institution – a world-class museum and research archive, it also the nation’s main site of commemoration for the more than 102,000 servicemen and women who have died during war.  The Memorial uses the latest museum technologies to help visitors understand the Australian experience of conflict. As such, it represents a unique location for filming and photography.

Onsite at the Memorial

  • The main entrance for media is the back Security Entrance, behind the HMAS Brisbane.
  • Media may park near the Security Entrance to unload vehicles, but then are requested to move vehicles to a carpark for security and access reasons.
  • Media may use reserved parking marked 'AWM Vehicle' or 'Official Visitor' in the Executive Carpark (behind the Administration Building)
