This figurine represents a pilot ‘scrambling’ to his aircraft and is based on typical mid-war tropical kit worn by RAAF single-seat fighter pilots operating in the Pacific theatre. His flight gear includes airtex helmet, a quick-release Type C 'seat pack' parachute harness (as worn with single-engine fighters and the twin-engine Beaufighter and Beaufort bomber), with K dinghy and pattern ‘41 Mae West life vest. He wears khaki drill issue shirt and trousers, well-suited to conditions in the tropics.
Fabrication: Cold-cast bronze.
Dimensions: 1:6 scale / 31.5 cm (h).
Weight: 1810 g (boxed).
