In the still calmness on this morning before sunrise, I reflected on the scale of the sacrifice commemorated in the heart of the Australian War Memorial. Pondering so many names on the rolls brings both a sense of respect and immense loss.

The scale of sacrifice made in the name of our nation is captured on the Roll Of Honour. A long series of bronze panels records the names of over 102,000 members of the Australian armed forces who have given their lives.
