T is for Training: Rosie raps it up
Joint winner of the 2022 'Distinctive Work' prize - Council for Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) - commended "for its significant contribution to supporting children and their families and your innovative, creative methods used in doing so".
'T' is for training is told through the eyes of a young girl named Rosie, whose Mum is away on deployment. The book focuses upon the impact upon children when a parent is deployed, using the acronym TRAINING to explore the theme.
Created as part of the Early Childhood Defence Programs project, this book is part of a series of research-based storybooks, all designed to increase and support a child's understanding about the work of their parents and how it affect their lives. Topics focus on deployment, health impacts and family life in general.
